Indians’ Martin gets revenge in shutout win over Tigers

Leonys Martin certainly has enjoyed playing against his former team the past few days.Martin went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored to lead the visiting Cleveland Indians to a 4-0 win over the Detroit Tigers on Thursday in the rubber game of a three-game series.Martin, who was traded from the Tigers to the Indians last year before surviving a life-threatening infection, finished the series with two home runs, five hits and three walks to help the Indians take two of the three games.Martin then struck again in the fourth with a base hit to right that scored Kevin Plawecki to put Cleveland ahead 3-0.Martin then scored his second run of the game in the seventh on another RBI single by Santana, this time to right field, to put the Indians up 4-0.That was more than enough run support for Indians pitching, starting with starter Shane Bieber.Following a solid start in which he gave up two runs and struck out nine in a win over the Toronto Blue Jays on April 5, Bieber (1-0) struck out six, walked one and allowed just three hits in seven innings to pick up the win against the Tigers.
