Tigers reinstate P Jose Urena, send P Michael Fulmer to IL

The Detroit Tigers made a flurry of roster moves, including activating right-handed pitcher Jose Urena in time to start Sunday’s game against the Chicago White Sox.He had been sidelined with a right forearm strain he sustained in a game May 26 against the Cleveland Indians.Additionally, the team put right-hander Michael Fulmer on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 3, with a right shoulder strain; selected the contract of right-handed reliever Jason Foley from Triple-A Toledo; and designated outfielder JaCoby Jones for assignment.On the season, Urena is 2-4 with a 4.14 ERA in 10 starts. Walks have been a problem as Urena, 29, has issued 22 of them in 54 1/3 innings.Fulmer, 28, has been both a spot starter and a closer for Detroit. In 20 games (four starts), Fulmer is 4-3 with a 3.34 ERA, and he’s converted four of five save opportunities. He has struck out 35 and walked 10 in 35 innings.
